SUN HUNG KAI & CO. AROUND THE ISLAND RACE
Postponed to Saturday 18 January 2025

[Announcement 24 October 2024] Due to the approaching Tropical Cyclone Trami and the possibility of Strong Wind Signal No. 3 being hoisted on Saturday 26 October, we have unfortunately had to take the decision to postpone the Sun Hung Kai & Co. Around the Island Race to 18 January 2025. 

The annual Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club Around the Island Race is one of the biggest inshore events in Hong Kong. It is a 26nm race around Hong Kong Island involving Class Keelboats, Dinghies, Beach Cats and Cruisers.

An average entry list of 200+ boat entries

On average more than 1500+ participants from all major yacht, sailing and rowing clubs in Hong Kong

Provisional Result

The prizegiving will be held at RHKYC Kellett Island on Thursday 23 January 2025 at 1930hrs.

    Due to a conflict of events on Saturday 19 November and on-water safety concerns, the Around The Island Race will take place on Sunday 20 November 2022.  Please refer to Notice to Competitors #1.

    Prizegiving will be postponed until COVID-19 Regulations are relaxed as we are unable to hold any social gathering under the agreement of our Race Permit.

    • Around the Island Race - Sunday 8 November

    Safety Briefing Pre-registration
    All skippers/Persons-in-charge must attend a Safety Briefing at the RHKYC Kellett Island. All attendants must pre-register online and register at the briefing. This is required for all competing boats entered in the race. Non compliance will be regarded as a failure to enter the event.
