GenCom Town Hall
Dear Fellow Members,
I would like to invite you to reserve your place for the upcoming General Committee Town Hall at Kellett Island on Wednesday, 24 September, from 1830hrs to 2030hrs.
The rundown and content will be as follows:
Introduction of the new General Manager
First, I will introduce you to our new General Manager, Jeff Merrin and give the microphone over to him so that he can tell you a little more about himself.
General Committee Update
I will then share updates on recent developments across various areas of the Club and topics of interest. Your questions about the work of the General Committee, other committees, and the management and operation of the Club are welcome. If you wish to submit questions in advance, please do so by midday on Friday, 19 September. Questions received before the meeting will be addressed during my presentation.
Members are also invited to ask questions during a Q&A session at the end of the presentation. Please note that, due to time constraints, it may not be possible to answer all questions thoroughly during the meeting. If your question cannot be fully addressed at that time, we will follow up with you after the Town Hall.
Hardstanding and Mooring Review
Rear Commodore Sailing, Ian Fleming, will give a brief update on the work of the Hardstanding and Mooring Review Working Group.
ClubCom Matters
Rear Commodore Mark Parker will provide a brief update with key bullet points about the Club’s visual brand assets and the progress on the Main Bar redevelopment project. He will also announce the date for a more comprehensive member consultation to gather your feedback and discuss future plans for the Main Bar in greater detail.
Club Financials
Honorary Treasurer Joseph Chu will present the Club’s financial model in three parts:
A detailed financial overview addressing members’ questions from the recent EGM, including the factors leading to the recent membership subscription fee increase and changes to staff MPF contributions.
A comparison of RHKYC’s financial position relative to other major sports clubs in Hong Kong.
An action plan outlining steps to find new sources of income which could benefit the Club in a meaningful way in the long term.
It is important that you register your attendance to help us with our planning.
Please use the online form (click here) to register and to submit any questions for the General Committee. Please remember any questions raised in advance should be submitted via the link before midday Friday 19 September.
Yours faithfully,
Adrian Pang
Commodore
