Club Operations Manager

This position is a senior management role with direct report to the General Manager and is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of food and beverage, housekeeping and technical service and the health, safety and sustainability aspects for three clubhouses located at Kellett Island, Middle Island and Shelter Cove.
Directly supervises the Food and Beverage Manager, Executive Chef, Banquet Sales Manager, F&B Outlet Managers, House Manager, Facilities and Technical Manager and the Manager – Health, Safety and Sustainability. Plan and implement budgets, hire, train and supervise subordinates and apply relevant marketing principles to assure that the needs of club members and their guests are consistently exceeded.

To be actively involved in the planning of and the opening of new or to be renovated F&B projects or Clubhouse facilities when they arise at all three clubhouses.

We are looking for an experienced professional with:

• A proven track record of achievement in the Club or Hospitality Industry.
• Strong leadership and management skills with an ability to drive revenue and manage teams.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and cost-control skills.
• Extensive knowledge of Food & Beverage Operations, the associated legislation and compliance requirements.
• A proven track record of innovative and successful, large and small scale, events and promotions.
• A positive approach to team building, promoting effective communication and be capable of instilling a strong, collaborative work ethic among all departments.
• Ability to plan and implement improved workplace practices and procedures.
• A good communicator, both written and spoken.
• Proficiency in Microsoft office software.

Race Programme Coach and Bosun (Sailing)

Responsibilities between Race Coach (predominantly ILCA/Laser) and Bosun to be apportioned as required.
This is a full-time position based in Hong Kong. Reporting to the Middle Island Sailing and Marine Manager and working alongside the Race Development Manager and Sail Centre Manager; the successful applicant will be responsible for inspiring our club racing sailors (Shark Squad) to improve and raise the standard of racing performance at local, regional and international events.

The role involves:

Coaching Duties.
• Coaching, educating and nurturing developing sailors in order to elevate the standard of racing performance in local, regional and international events.
• To oversee the ILCA / Laser Squads and personally coach these groups as required and assist from time-to-time with coaching other classes as required (including sail training coaching).
• To plan all weekend and school holiday training as well as local and international events.
• To follow and ensure other coaches adhere to the Sail Training and Race Coaching Guidelines.
• Keep up to date with new coaching techniques and methods specific to the squads you are responsible for.
• Mentor and lead squads ensuring they act in accordance with the club’s culture and behavior policies at all times.
• This role requires spending working time outdoors, in all weathers. A high level of personal fitness should be maintained.

Bosun Repair and Maintenance Duties
• To oversee (and as far as practical carry out) all maintenance on club owned boat hulls (to include, but not limited to RS quest, RSA Tera, Fusions, RS Feva, Vargo, ILCA, 29er and Keel Boats), and other craft as necessary.
• To repair and install rigging, wires, ropes to masts, booms and other boat inventory as required.
• To repair, assemble and store new boats, trailers, dollys and general hardware on the hardstand.
• To be proactive in the delivery of repairs in a timely manner and respond in particular to urgent jobs.
• To store and care for tools, machinery; to oversee and maintain the workshop and all materials required for Bosun duties.
• To ensure repair jobs are recorded on/into the relevant logs and computer systems.
• To maintain an inventory of parts and equipment and ensure adequate spares are available at all times.
• To liaise and coordinate off-site repairs with approved service providers locally and internationally.

We look for people with:
• Coaching experience at a high level including some international sailing and coaching experience in dinghies and especially ILCA / Laser.
• An Internationally recognised coaching/instructing qualification.
• Preferably an Internationally recognised powerboat driving qualification.
• A Hong Kong PVOCC Grade Two (Pleasure Vessel Operators Certificate Competency) or the ability to gain this within two months.A First Aid and AED Qualification.
• Bosun experience across a range of craft.
• A willingness to work with members and coach on most weekends with regular days off on weekdays.
• To perform such other duties as may be reasonable requested by the Middle Island Sailing and Marine Manager.

Junior Racing Programme Coach (Sailing)

This is a full-time position based in Hong Kong. Reporting to the Middle Island Sailing and Marine Manager and Race Development Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for inspiring our club racing sailors (Shark Squad) to grow a lasting passion for the sport, participate in club racing and achieve high performance goals at local and international regattas.

The role involves:
• Managing the Junior (ages 8 to 15) racing programme, including the development programme (introduction level to club level racing) and the club Junior Performance team in a range of boats including Optimists, RS teras and doublehanded dinghies.
• Coach the performance squad and organize coaching for other areas of the programme.
• Support the club dinghy and ILCA/ Laser racing programmes through assisting with delivery of racing clinics and events for members as needed.
• Lead weekend coaching, school holiday coaching, and take squads to overseas events.
• Assist with some instructing with our sail training team during the week and during school holidays as needed.
• To perform such other duties as may be reasonable requested by the Middle Island Sailing and Marine Manager.
• Keep up to date with new coaching techniques and methods specific to the squads you are responsible for.
• Mentor and lead squads to act in accordance with club's culture and behavior policies particularly when competing outside the RHKYC.
• Oversee upkeep and organization of Middle Island sailing dinghies, equipment and facilities, particularly those that are used by your assigned squads.
• This role requires spending time working outdoors, in all weathers. A high level of personal fitness should be maintained.

We look for people with:
• Junior competitor and coach experience at an above average level.
• Some international sailing and coaching experience.
• An Internationally recognised coaching/instructing qualification.
• Preferably an Internationally recognised powerboat driving qualification.
• A Hong Kong PVOCC Grade Two (Pleasure Vessel Operators Certificate Competency) or the ability to gain this within two months.
• A First Aid and AED Qualification.
• A willingness to work with members and coach on most weekends with regular days off on weekdays.
