Pontoons at Shelter Cove (with the exception of Shelter Cove Marina), Middle Island and Causeway Bay are provided primarily to accommodate the launching and mooring of Class boats for racing. From 0900 hours on the day preceding a day when Class racing is scheduled at a particular location to 0900 hours on the day following the scheduled race day, no vessel other than Club operated boats and Class racing yachts may lay alongside the pontoon(s) unless with the express permission of the Marine Office.

No vessel may lay alongside the Club’s pontoons at Shelter Cove, Middle Island or Kellett Island for more than 48 hours in each calendar week (0000hrs on Mondays until 2359hrs on Sundays) except with the permission of the Marine Office. Members who infringe this rule will incur an unauthorised usage charge as determined from time to time by the General Committee.

Non class boat craft moored alongside during this time without permission may be subject to a penalty. Craft may moor alongside the blue sector outside the above times.

Red sector- No mooring alongside allowed except when using the crane service.

Class boats only are allowed to moor alongside from 0900 on Friday mornings until 0900 on Monday mornings when there is class racing.

Members may not berth their vessels alongside the seawall in the restricted area except for loading and unloading, for which a maximum period of 15 minutes is permitted. Members who infringe this rule may be subject to additional charges as decided by the General Committee and/or subject to the Club’s disciplinary proceedings.

These pontoons are principally for use by dinghies, class boats and safety boats.

Craft over 40 feet are not allowed to moor alongside the pontoon system at Middle Island. Craft above 40 feet may come alongside to drop off or load but may not tie up to the pontoon or be left unattended.

Members who infringe these rules will incur a penalty as decided from time to time by the General Committee and/or be subject to the Club’s disciplinary proceedings.
