House Rules

Domestic Helpers / Private Coaches / Instructors

No domestic helper may perform domestic duties at the Club premises and no coach/instructor shall conduct private lessons at any of the Club’s premises without the consent of the General Committee, who may delegate the granting of such consent to the General Manager. Applications for consent must be made in advance to the General Manager and a special pass will be given to the respective helper/coach for identification. By way of guidance, consent may be requested for a domestic helper to support a disabled member or a member who requires special care. For the avoidance of doubt a domestic helper is permitted: (a) to visit the Club’s restaurants as a guest of a member so long as the domestic helper is not required to perform duties during the visit; and (b) to collect or drop off young children of members in the carpark of the Club’s premises at Kellett Island and Shelter Cove and the pontoon area of Middle Island.

Children Under Age 12

MUST remain under the personal supervision of a responsible Member aged 18 years or over at all times whilst on Club premisesto ensure their personal safety and that their behaviour at no time causes offence to other members.    In restaurant areas, children must remain seated and reasonably behaved and are not permitted to run or wander around freely.

Compass Room

May only be in the Compass Room for lunch on Saturdays, Sundays, Firework night(s), Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, tea at the Club's Children's Christmas Party, and official Club core sports prizegiving events and any other occasions approved from time to time by the General Committee.

Gun Room
May only be in the Gun Room to attend private functions to which they have been invited as a guest and any occasions approved from time to time by the General Committee.

Main Bar
May only be in the Main Bar up to 1800hrs with the exception of Firework night(s), Christmas Eve and any other occasions approved from time to time by the General Committee.

Main Deck
May only be on the Main Deck up to 2000hrs with the exception of Firework night(s), Christmas Eve, official Club core sports prizegiving events and any other occasions approved from time to time by the General Committee.

Mobile Phones and Laptop Computers (online calls)

Use of mobile phones or laptops for online calls may ONLY take place at the following places:

Kellett Island
a. the designated area within the Children’s playground alongside the waterfront railing.
b. the landing outside the lift of the staircase from the Bistro to the Chart Room.
c. the outside corridor adjacent to the Ladies’ changing rooms.
d. the landing of the white metal staircase from the hardstanding to changing rooms and on the outdoor landing between the changing rooms and the gymnasium.
e. the lift lobby next to the Club Room (the location of the former Geoff Edmonds Room).
f. the Poolside semi-circle covered table area.
g. the walking balcony between the Gun Room and the Ward Room.
h. the Club Room.
i. the car park and hard stand areas.

Middle Island
a. Level 2 Terrace (outside changing rooms).
b. Level 3 Terrace (in the designated area outside the Minnitt & Sedgwick Rooms).
c. Level 4 the designated area of the corridor to the bathrooms.
d. open areas of hard standing and pontoon.
e. Beach.

Shelter Cove
a. the designated area in front of the Official Notice Board
b. car park
c. hard stand areas.

Smoking

Smoking is ONLY permitted in the following areas:

Kellett Island
a. the balconies of the Chart Room and Main Bar
b. the Main Deck (in the designated smoking area)
c. the Sun Deck
d. open areas of car park, boatyard and pontoon
e. the walking balcony between the Gun Room and the Ward Room

Middle Island
a. Level 2 Terrace (outside changing rooms)
b. Level 3 Terrace (in the designated area outside the Minnitt & Sedgwick Rooms)
c. Level 4 seating area under the flagpole
d. open areas of hard standing and pontoon
e. Beach.

Shelter Cove
a. open areas of car park, marina and pontoon
b. designated area in front of the Official Notice Board

Wireless Network

The Club’s wireless network is provided for the benefit of members and guests to access internet services whilst at the Club. Wireless network users should ensure their devices are properly configured and operated so that they do not cause any inconvenience to other users. The use of the Club’s wireless network is subject to the terms and conditions as determined by the General Committee from time to time.
