The Eastern Asia Offshore Race 2025 is organised by the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club and will take boats from Hong Kong to Tainan. Come down to watch the start in front of Kellett Clubhouse, warning signal at 1110hrs.
This year marks the 50th Anniversary of Sunset Series. The ever-popular race is held over 12 Fridays throughout the summer months and is a good excuse to start the weekend early - fun, relaxed sailing with friends. The race track is in front of the Club which makes it a great event for spectators if you don’t wish to sail. First warning signal is 1730hrs.
Join the global women’s sailing festival hosted by Hebe Haven Yacht Club with Sailability Hong Kong for a number of interesting on-and-off-water activities and events that encourage and incentivise participation by women and girls in sailing.
Come and sail with friends from RHKYC, meet women sailors from other Clubs and enjoy the party afterwards!

2025 will mark the 11th edition of this biennial race which is the longest Category 1 offshore race in Asia! The race was first run in 1996 and then regularly since 2004. The Hong Kong to Vietnam Race 2025 is a qualifying race for the 2025 Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race and is run under the auspices of RORC.
This 565nm Category 1 Offshore Race is run under the auspices of RORC with the race taking competitors from Hong Kong, China to Subic Bay in the Philippines.
Please note the below courses will be the only courses held before the Hong Kong to Vietnam Race and Rolex China Sea Race due to pool closure.
Full course: 4 to 5 October 2025, 17 to 18 October 2025 Refresher course: 19 October 2025
For RHKYC Category 1 Offshore Yacht Races at least 50% of a crew (including skipper) shall have undertaken Safety at Sea Survival training, Asia Pacific Yachting run these courses on behalf of the Sailing Federation of Hong Kong, China.
Refresher course eligibility: This course is only open to those who hold a World Sailing (ISAF) certificate not more than 2 years past the expiry date on the first day of the course and issued in Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong or by the RYA. (see World Sailing, Offshore Special Regulations 6.01.5). If older than 2 years you must complete a 2 day course.

A speaker corner will be held on Wednesday 21 May, conducted by Dr. Vaudine England, author of the book The Quest of Noel Croucher: Hong Kong’s Quiet Philanthropist, which details Mr. Croucher’s legendary life- from a young British man who came to Hong Kong with nothing to one of the richest tycoons actively engaged in Hong Kong business development and a respected philanthropist- yet his name is not widely known to the public. Dr. England will also share her story of tracking down his boat to a marina in Phuket. Be prepared for a night full of captivating stories and shared memories.
One RS 21 keelboat has been leant to the Club for members to trial on. Any Club member under the Club’s Approved Helm List wishing to take out the RS 21 please complete the booking form, indicating the desired reservation date and time. Each member can sign up one session for free and one PVOL holder must be on board. Members not currently on the Approved Helm List can apply for exemption by emailing sailing experience to sailingoffice@rhkyc.org.hk, final decision will be made by Sailing Committee.
Buoyancy aids are required to worn at all times when sailing on RS21, please bring your own.
Any damage that is found before or caused during sailing the boat must be reported.
Protests/Hearing Requests can be submitted electronically for any Club or Class racing events. Forms will be accepted either electronically or on paper format.
Our Club aims to deliver a high standard of first aid, if there is an incident requiring first aid please contact the nearest member of staff who will put into motion the club's First Aid protocols.
