Most engine problems can be avoided by taking simple precautions and you don’t need detailed mechanical knowledge to make repairs. This one day course is taught by a qualified RYA instructor and teaches you:

  • Theory: How diesel engine works, parts of the engine.
  • Systems: Fuel, air, cooling, electrical, lubrication, transmission, engine controls.
  • Operation: Periodic checks, starting and stopping.
  • Maintenance: Diagnostics, troubleshooting, servicing, emergency procedures
