World Sailing Safety at Sea Survival Course
For all World Sailing Category 1 offshore yacht races at least 50% of a crew (including the skipper) shall have undertaken the Sea Safety & Survival training. Asia Pacific Yachting runs these courses on behalf of the Hong Kong Sailing Federation. Successful participants will receive a World Sailing certificate that will last for five years before further safety training is necessary. This certificate will be accepted at other regattas where there is such a requirement.

First Aid CPR and AED Courses
Standard First Aid, CPR and AED Course

ECT-HK will be running Standard First Aid, CPR & AED courses at Kellett Island. There will be a minimum of 6 and maximum of 10 students per course. National Safety Council (USA) First Aid, CPR & AED certificates will be awarded upon successful completion of a written assessment. The validity of both certificates will be TWO years. National Safety Council (USA) certificates are recognised internationally and will be accepted for the RHKYC Offshore Races.

The refresher course is run at the same time as the standard course however it is slightly discounted. This is only available to those who hold a valid NSC Standard First Aid & CPR & AED certificate or one that expires in the same month

HF / GMDSS / DSC Radio Operator Course
The aim of these courses is to operate VHF & MF/HF DSC/TRANSCEIVERS, NAVTEX, SART, EPIRB and IMMARSAT C equipment. To send and receive: Distress, Urgency, Safety alerts/communications and communications relating to ships business and other routine traffic. To increase the safety of small vessels at sea.

Open to all with or without previous Radio Operator qualifications. This will lead to the Long Range Qualification (VHF & HF).

HK Pleasure Vessel Operators Certificate
PLEASURE VESSEL OPERATORS CERTIFICATE COMPETENCY - PVOCC
(previously known as HK PLEASURE VESSEL OPERATORS LICENSE - PVOL)


This course prepares students for the HK Marine Department Examinations. Students may go to the HK Marine Department to register for the exam.

The course is organised by A & M Boating Ltd and will take place at RHKYC, Kellett Island, Causeway Bay. Please register the following online form.
