Oral tradition reminds us of the Tenuta di Piandaccoli from the year 1000; being on the Via Francigena it was born as a hostel for pilgrims. It was then that the monks began the cultivation of vines in these lands. In the 1800s the Tenuta di Piandaccoli passed to the Dorin family to whom the development of today's refrigerator is due and who implemented the cultivation of the vine. In 1950s, the estate already produced excellent Chianti and managed to market its wines throughout Tuscany.

The current owner of the estate is Dr Giampaolo Bruni who has invested commitment and energy to make the vineyards of Piandaccoli shine with new life. In 2004, Dr Giampaolo Bruni defines a completely innovative project: to produce wines from native vines of Renaissance Tuscany. For this purpose all 20 hectares of vineyards were replanted. The first bottle of Inprimis was born in 2009; an extremely elegant and unique Tuscany blend with a Sangiovese base, combining Foglia Tonda and Pugnitello, two of the native vines. After years spent focused on the search for excellence in the creation of its products, the Estate has established itself in more and more markets. The project to spread the value of native Tuscan vines continues, which is essential for safeguarding the bio-diversity of the wine scene.
