The Marine section of the RHKYC is responsible for the management of the support facilities for all of our water based activities, be it yacht racing, rowing or cruising. As such, the marine section lies at the very heart of the Club's activities.
Employing 25 full time staff, Marine operates a total of 26 support boats ranging from RIBs and sampans to work boats and committee boats.
Marine also looks after a total of 400 moorings split between Kellett Island, Shelter Cove, Shelter Cove Marina, Aberdeen, Middle Island and Jade Bay.
In addition to our moorings, our facilities include hardstanding for over 140 Class boats between our Kellett Island, Middle Island and Shelter Cove bases. Each hardstand facility is equipped with a crane for launch and recovery as well as pontoons for temporary berthing and access.
In addition to providing support for the racing run by the RHKYC, Marine also arranges marine logistics for other Clubs and outside organisations with a strong focus on community based events such as the Stanley Dragon Boat Festival.
