For his commitment to Club rowing and their development over the last season, the ‘Wilson Bowl’ has been awarded to Sander Day.
Sander has been a positive and dedicated member of the youth rowing team since joining the Club in the summer of 2021. He quickly established himself as one of the Club's most promising young rower. Through his tireless dedication to training and development of his skills, Sander has become a force to be reckoned with on the water.
Sander's performances have been nothing short of exceptional. He regularly dominates local competitions and has even found success racing against rowers from outside of Hong Kong. But Sander's impact extends beyond just his on-the-water achievements. He has been instrumental in getting his school, Chinese International School, back into ECA rowing at the club. Sander lobbied the school hard, encouraged his classmates to sign up for rowing and worked closely with the RHKYC team to promote and push the idea of after school rowing. And he was successful as CIS rejoined ECA rowing this term.
Sander's hard work, talent, and enthusiasm have earned him well-deserved recognition within the team and the broader rowing community. Many in the team are watching Sander's progress closely, confident that he will continue to rise to the occasion and bring great pride to the Club.
May I please ask Sander Day to come forward to receive the ‘Wilson Bowl’ award.
