The criteria of the Wilson Cup award were that he/she must be a club member - Junior and/or cadet, should have raced regularly over the race season for the club or another acknowledged club, should have represented the club at least twice over the year, should have taken some role in nurturing other youth rowers for the development of the sport in Hong Kong, should be an excellent ambassador for RHKYC youth rowing, especially in relation to good sportsmanship and being a role model and should be a country national representative or obtain outstanding results in international competition. For his performance over the last season this award went to Kenny Liu.
Kenny’s achievements have been outstanding. He received gold medals in both the Asia Cup Singapore M2- and M4- and a bronze medal in the Asian Championship LM4- in 2016. In 2017, he received gold medals in the Sydney International Regatta LM4x and M4x 500m sprint and the All-Japan Lightweight Rowing Cup LM4x. He placed second in Holland-Bekker Amsterdam LM4x, and received a silver medal in the Asian Championship LM4x. The Wilson Cup award was then presented to Kenny Liu by Mr Wilson and Mr Stoneley.
