2025 Tom Larmour Awards

Sailor of the Year – Ayden Pang

The ‘Young Sailor of the Year’ award goes to Ayden Pang. Ayden has been an integral part of the club since he began sailing at the age of eight. Over the years, he has consistently delivered strong race results and demonstrated unwavering commitment to both personal excellence and team development. Despite being invited to join the SI team in 2022, Adyen choose to remain with the Sharks team, where he has taken on a leadership role in supporting and mentoring younger sailors. His self-initiative in assisting with training, sharing tactical knowledge, and fostering team cohesion has made a lasting impact within the Sharks team.

Ayden exemplifies the values of sportsmanship and humility, always encouraging his teammates and setting a positive example on and off water. This year, he was awarded with the LCSD funding for the 29er World Championship, where he will proudly represent both the Hong Kong National Team and the Sharks team, further underscoring his talent, dedication, and role as an ambassador for the club's youth sailing program.

The Most Promising Young Sailor – Kaden Chan

This year that honor goes to Kaden Chan.

Kaden has shown exceptional dedication and growth over the past two years in the 29er team, both as a competitor and as a committed learner. With one of the highest attendance records in club races and training sessions, he has consistently demonstrated his passion for sailing and eagerness to improve, his race results have shown marked and steady progress throughout the year, reflecting not only his potential but also his determination and hard work.

Kaden's commitment goes beyond his own performance. He actively contributes to the Sharks team by assisting with boat repairs and maintenance, and volunteers as non-paid AI to help train younger sailors. This year, he was also awarded LCSD funding for the 29er European Championship, where he will proudly represent both the Hong Kong National Team and the Sharks team. His upcoming invitation to join the SI team this September, as well his strong potential for qualifying for the Asian Games, are clear indicators of him as a competitive sailor.
