NATIONS' CUP

Sunday 28 April

Any keelboat with a RHKATI rating or a PHS handicap can enter. The unique feature is that everybody on board an individual boat must be of the same nationality - born, passport, language fluency. Are you up for this chance to claim the waters of HK for your country/region?

You don't have to be a member of the RHKYC - or ANY club in HK for that matter. Heck, you don't even have to live here. Fly in Ben Ainslie if you want!

There are NO restrictions on the number of boats that can enter for a country/region - so if for example there are 15 boats representing Hong Kong, the more the better.

We have some exciting changes to courses this year which include:

Junior Beginner Intensive-Full Day (Step 1, 2 & Solo): For an opportunity for Junior sailors to learn new skills and build confidence on the water whilst taking part in an exciting and challenging week of sailing. This will run as a 5-full day course to maximize the time spent on the water.

Junior Advance Intensive-Full Day (Step 3 & 4):  It is a combined Optimist Step 3 and 4 syllabus together for a more challenging course that’s suited for the optimist sailors with some previous sailing experience and to consolidate existing skills.

Junior Intro Racing Clinic: Similar to Silver Squad on the weekends, we will be running three Junior Intro Racing Clinics over the summer. For Optimist sailors who have completed step 4 already or who have attended Silver Squad, this will provide a 5-full day training camp to advance racing skills. This will be especially useful for those intending to trial for the Sharks Racing Team next year.

Youth Beginner Intensive (HKSF Level 1 & 2):   We are adding a combined HKSF level 1 and 2 course for sailors aged 12 and above. This will allow new sailors to progress quickly whilst still providing a comprehensive introduction to basic sailing skills. For sailors between 10 and 11 years old, we will run several 5-full day Level 1 courses which will allow them to attend the HKSF Level 2 courses afterwards.

Youth Advanced Racing: For sailors who have completed Youth Intro Racing Clinic or HKSF Level 3, this clinic aims to provide an fun introduction to racing and to also introduce sailors to advanced techniques such Fusion or Fevas.

Y outh Powerboat Level 2 Course (mini 16yr old): Powerboat course will be part of our Summer program this year. We will run two courses over the summer for sailors 16 years.
