The 34th edition of the China Coast Regatta will be run from Middle Island from 17 to 19 October. Competing yachts can expect the best of Hong Kong’s sailing conditions.

BIG BOAT CLASS 3-PORT SERIES

3 October, 5 December, 27 February

This new Big Boat series will be contested over three weekends, with each round based at a different Clubhouse and complemented by a Saturday evening social gathering at the host venue. Weekend One will be centred at Kellett Island, Weekend Two at Middle Island, and Weekend Three at Shelter Cove, offering competitors the opportunity to experience all three Club locations throughout the series.

SUN HUNG KAI & CO. AROUND THE ISLAND RACE

7 November

The Sun Hung Kai & Co. Around the Island Race is Hong Kong’s largest exhibition of sail and is a ‘must do’ for water sports enthusiasts in the region. It is a 26nm race around Hong Kong Island involving Class Keelboats, Dinghies, Beach Cats and Cruisers. The race is also a breath-taking event to behold either from the land, sky or sea so make sure to keep an eye out!

TOP DOG TROPHY SERIES

The annual Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club Top Dog Trophy Series is an award that is presented to the yacht with the best combined results from a series of races held over the season, Sun Hung Kai & Co. Around the Island Race, Lipton Trophy, HKRNVR Memorial Vase and Tomes Cup.

HONG KONG TO HAINAN RACE 2026

29 October

The Hong Kong to Hainan Race 2026 will start on 29 October! This biennial Offshore Category 1 race is a classic 390nm downwind passage to Sanya, on the island of Hainan in southern China.

WORLD SAILING SAFETY AT SEA SURVIVAL COURSES

Full course: 3 to 4 October 2026
Refresher course: 29 November 2026

For RHKYC Category 1 Offshore Yacht Races at least 50% of a crew (including skipper) shall have undertaken World Sailing Offshore Personal Safety & Survival Course. 

Refresher course eligibility: This course is only open to those who hold a World Sailing (ISAF) certificate not more than 2 years past the expiry date on the first day of the course and issued in Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong or by the RYA.  (see World Sailing, Offshore Special Regulations 6.01.5).
If older than 2 years you must complete a 2 day course.

FIRST AID, CPR & AED COURSES

4 October 

ECT-HK will be running Refresher and Standard First Aid, CPR & AED courses at Kellett Island. National Safety Council (USA) First Aid, CPR & AED certificates will be awarded upon successful completion of a written assessment and are recognised internationally and will be accepted for the club's offshore races.

ROLEX CHINA SEA RACE 2028

8 March 2028

The 2028 edition of the Rolex China Sea Race is scheduled to start on 8 March 2028. This iconic 565‑nm Category 1 offshore race, run under the auspices of the Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC), will once again challenge competitors on the demanding passage from Hong Kong, China, to Subic Bay in the Philippines, cementing its reputation as one of Asia’s premier blue‑water races.

RYA Start yachting practical (2-day course) - See how it is to start yachting on a cruiser
RYA Competent Crew practical (5-day course) - A beginner's course to become an active crew member
RYA Day Skipper practical (5-day course) - This course provides you with the confidence and skills to skipper a yacht.
RYA Coastal Skipper practical (5-day course) - Advanced course for skippering under more challenging circumstances

RYA DIESEL ENGINE COURSE

28 November
Mechanical failure is the main cause of rescue call-outs to pleasure vessels.  Most engine problems can be avoided by taking simple precautions and you don t need detailed mechanical knowledge to make repairs.  This course is designed to teach vessel owners and users (both power and sail) the basics of how to maintain and repair their engine.

MARINE FEES

Please note that at their meeting on 25 June 2026, the General Committee approved that Marine Fees be increased by 3% with effect from 1 August 2026.

FIRST AID AT THE CLUB

Our Club aims to deliver a high standard of first aid, if there is an incident requiring first aid please contact the nearest member of staff who will put into motion the club's First Aid protocols. Please note that First Aid Boxes and AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators) are available at the following locations:
