BMW SPRING REGATTA

Saturday 10 May to Sunday 11 May 

The Spring Regatta will take place on 10 to 11 May with over 90 keelboats competing from ten classes.  The regatta features three races over two days and takes place in the Eastern Harbour.

Saturday 10 May
1100hrs to 1400hrs and 1630hrs to 1830hrs
Sunday 11 May
0930hrs to 1230hrs and 1530hrs to 1800hrs

The Spring Regatta is one of the Club's premier regattas and due to the large number of sailors taking part, the Club’s sampans will not provide any pick up or drop off service between the Jardine Steps and Kellett Island pontoon and moorings, during the above times. 

All sampans will be used to take members from the Kellett Island slipway to their boats, we apologise for any inconvenience caused.

KELLETT ISLAND MOORING FOR HIRE

ST. JAMES'S PLACE SUNSET SERIES

6 June to 22 August 

This year marks the 50th Anniversary of Sunset Series. The ever-popular race is held over 12 Fridays throughout the summer months and is a good excuse to start the weekend early - fun, relaxed sailing with friends.  The race track is in front of the Club which makes it a great event for spectators if you don’t wish to sail. First warning signal is 1730hrs.

BIG BOAT RUM SERIES

All Big Boats are welcome to join the Friday afternoon fun Rum Series racing under PHS, no spinnakers.

Dates - 9, 16, 23, 30 May
Start time – 1500hrs
Race duration – 90 -120 min
Race area – Harbour, as far as TCS4

BIG BOAT DOUBLE HANDED SERIES 2024-25

17 May

The final race of Double Handed Series will take place on 17 May. This will be a gentle introduction to the wonderful discipline of double handed sailing and is especially open to those who have never raced double handed before.

WORLD SAILING'S STEERING THE COURSE WOMEN'S INTERCLUB SAILING FESTIVAL

Tuesday 27 May  - Sunday 1 June 

Join the global women’s sailing festival hosted by Hebe Haven Yacht Club with Sailability Hong Kong for a number of interesting on-and-off-water activities and events that encourage and incentivise participation by women and girls in sailing.
Come and sail with friends from RHKYC, meet women sailors from other Clubs and enjoy the party afterwards!

EASTERN ASIA OFFSHORE RACE 2025

Starts Thursday 29 May

The Eastern Asia Offshore Race 2025 is organised by the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club and will take boats from Hong Kong to Chinese Tainan.

HONG KONG TO VIETNAM RACE-  STARTS 28 & 29 OCTOBER

2025 will mark the 11th edition of this biennial race which is the longest Category 1 offshore race in Asia! The race was first run in 1996 and then regularly since 2004. The Hong Kong to Vietnam Race 2025 is a qualifying race for the 2025 Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race and is run under the auspices of RORC.

ROLEX CHINA SEA RACE - STARTS 4 MARCH 2026

This 565nm Category 1 Offshore Race is run under the auspices of RORC with the race taking competitors from Hong Kong, China to Subic Bay in the Philippines.

SUMMER YOUTH SAILING PROGRAMME

We are extremely excited to release the schedule for the Summer Youth Sailing Programme at Middle Island.  We also will run Junior combine courses as same as last summer and offer Youth Keelboat courses during in this year, please see the following table for your reference.

Please note that we are not able to reserve places in advance. Spaces on courses can only be booked through the website.

Protests/Hearing Requests can be submitted electronically for any Club or Class racing events.

FIRST AID AT THE CLUB

Our Club aims to deliver a high standard of first aid, if there is an incident requiring first aid please contact the nearest member of staff who will put into motion the club's First Aid protocols. Please note that First Aid Boxes and AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators) are available at the following locations:
