RHKYC X UPCC Upcycling Bag

RHKYC X UPCC Upcycling Bag

Every year, countless sails are damaged during sailing races, and most end up in landfills with no proper recycling solution. To turn waste into value, St. James' Settlement Jockey Club Upcycling Centre (UPCC) collects discarded sail cloths from RHKYC and upcycles them into stylish, durable daily bags. These hard-wearing, water-resistant bags carry the unique texture of old sails, blending nautical charm with eco-friendly design. By giving retired sail cloth a second life, the project reduces marine‑related waste and creates practical, one‑of‑a‑kind lifestyle products with purpose.

As each bag is crafted from upcycled sail cloth, the available colours and subtle details may vary slightly between batches, reflecting the unique history of the original sails. No two pieces are exactly alike, giving every bag its own distinct character. However, the overall design, structure, and style of the bags remain consistent, ensuring you get the same reliable silhouette and functional aesthetic every time. This natural variation is part of the charm of upcycled products, making each item truly one-of-a-kind.
