The Club carries property insurance for Club-owned assets only. The Club’s liability insurance does not cover members’ assets (including vessels and related equipment/gear). Members should review their own insurance to ensure adequate coverage for storm, typhoon, and other extreme-weather damage. Any damage to members’ assets is not covered by the Club, even if it arises from the failure of Club equipment or any other cause.
To ensure your safety and protect your vessel, please:
1. Check mooring lines, tie downs and shackles: Inspect your mooring lines and shackles for any signs of wear or damage. Ensure they are properly secured to withstand severe conditions.
2. Stow loose items: Remove any loose items from the deck, including sails, covers and other gear. Securely stow them below deck to prevent them from becoming projectiles in strong winds.
3. Batteries and bilge pumps: Ensure your batteries are fully charged and all bilge pumps are operating correctly.
4. Monitor weather updates: Keep an eye on local weather forecasts for any changes and additional guidance.
By taking these steps, you can help safeguard your vessel and ensure the safety of others.
