RACE CONTROL ROSTER
RACE CONTROL ROSTER
RHKYC thrives on the enthusiasm and support of its members, and Class Racing wouldn’t be possible without volunteers. Each weekend, different classes take turns helping on the race course—contributing to the smooth running of events for others, just as they will for you when it’s your turn to race.
Racing is held most Saturdays, Sundays, and occasionally on Public Holidays, across some of our most beautiful race areas, including the Harbour, Middle Island, Lamma, Port Shelter, and Clearwater Bay.
Your participation not only keeps our racing programme strong but also helps build a vibrant, connected sailing community. We truly appreciate every member who steps in—you make the racing season happen!
Members new to Race Control are usually rostered as Recorders, while those with more experience may serve as Race Officer (RO) or Assistant Race Officer (ARO).
For applying for Full Membership, members are required to complete at least three race control duties—one per year in the most recent five years.
If you’d like to get more involved in running the Club’s racing or to meet the full membership application requirement, please log in to the RHKYC DutyMan page (link below) and sign up for any dates that suit you. For any questions or help with DutyMan, please see the guidelines below or contact
Dilys Wong.
PROTEST COMMITTEE ROSTER
PROTEST COMMITTEE ROSTER
Your support plays an essential role in ensuring fair and enjoyable racing across all venues—Harbour, Middle Island, Shelter Cove, and Clearwater Bay.
- Harbour racing hearings are usually held at Kellett Island on the Monday evening (or next business day) following the race.
- Middle Island, Shelter Cove, and Clearwater Bay hearings may take place on-site shortly after the protest time limit, or at Kellett Island the following Monday evening.
For each racing weekend, a
Protest Chairman and two Protest Committee Members are appointed well in advance. The Sailing Office will reach out on Monday morning to confirm whether your panel’s assistance is required. If so, you’ll receive the relevant protest form(s) to review ahead of the hearing.
Your time and expertise truly make a difference in upholding the integrity and spirit of our racing events. We’re grateful for your willingness to contribute—thank you for helping our sailors compete with confidence and fairness.
