RHKYC Charity Foundation is hosting a series of talks called 'People Fixing Asia'.  Inspiring guest speakers have been invited to share with our members and guests on various topics about making Asia a better place.

Topic: Fantastic Fishes and Where to Find Them
Hong Kong may be famous for its seafood restaurants featuring all shapes and sizes of colourful reef fishes, but most of these fishes will have been imported, and not taken from Hong Kong waters. So what do we really find, if we dive into the waters surrounding this city? The 114˚E Hong Kong Reef Fish Survey has documented close to 400 reef fish species since 2014, many are new records for Hong Kong. Join Stan Shea to learn more about Hong Kong’s colourful underwater reef-life, where to find these fantastic fishes, and what we can do to ensure their continued survival.

Speaker: Stan Shea, Marine Programme Director at Bloom Association Hong Kong
Stan is an avid diver, and in 2014, co-founded the 114°E Hong Kong Reef Fish Survey to understand more about fishes in Hong Kong waters. Aside from reef fish surveys, Stan also conducts research on the international shark fin trade and works on issues related to the live and dried seafood trade to work towards species conservation.
