The House of Ruinart is the first established Champagne House by Nicolas Ruinart
in 1729 and inspired by the intuition of Dom Thierry Ruinart well ahead of his time.
Nicolas Ruinart, a Reims draper like his father, started his first account ledger
devoted to “wine with bubbles” on 1 September, 1729. This ledger serves as the
birth certificate for the first Champagne House ever created.                     

Nicolas adopted his uncle’s pioneering vision and ambition for “wine with bubbles”. The first delivery of “wine with bubbles” went out in January, 1730. 6 years later in 1735, Maison Ruinart concentrated on the burgeoning champagne trade due to success in the business. Since then, the Maison has kept the standards of excellence of its founders.
