Table Tennis at Kellett Island

TABLE TENNIS RULES

As a trial, the Club Committee has approved that table tennis should be available in one of the squash courts during its non-peak hours.

Conduct and Use

1    Players must wear soft-soled athletic shoes with non-marking soles.

2    No food or drink may be taken into the squash court.

3    Smoking is prohibited in the squash court and spectators’ gallery.

Bookings

1    Unless the squash courts are occupied for another activity, table tennis is available for booking daily at:

•    0800hrs to 1100hrs (on Saturdays 0800hrs to 0930hrs)
•    1445hrs to 1700hrs
•    2130hrs to 2300hrs

2    Bookings can be made up to 14 days in advance either in person or by telephoning Reception between 0800hrs and 2200hrs, or after 2200hrs to the Main Bar.

3    No member may book the table tennis table for more than one session of 45 minutes per day. Members may continue to play, after the session, if no other members are waiting.

4    Table tennis fees for “member with member” and “member with guest” are $40 and $50 per 45-minute session respectively. Members are required to sign a chit for a deposit of $100 for 2 bats. Table tennis balls are available for sale at $3 each. Members may bring in their own bats and balls.

5    Members and their guests should check-in at Reception to sign a chit and/or obtain table tennis bats and balls. Members must inform Reception when they have finished playing.

6    Any person found willfully damaging the equipment will be charged for the damage.

7    If the table tennis table is not occupied within 10 minutes of the commencement of the period for which it has been booked, any members waiting to play may use the table; the original booking will be deemed to be cancelled.

8    Bookings for table tennis may be cancelled with no fee charged if the cancellation is made before the day for which the table has been booked. Cancellation of a table on the day of use will result in no fee being charged only if another member takes up the vacant table.

Children

1    Children under 12 years of age may not use the squash courts or be in the spectators’ gallery unless accompanied by an adult.
