Sailing for twenty years. The first ten years regattas on Port Phillip Melbourne on a 32' downwind flier while doing offshore races, Hamilton Island and Geelong regattas aboard “Windspirit” a 45' Norseman.
Five years ago decided to get more seriously into racing. Some international regattas, and back home secured mid bow on Farr 43 ‘Georgia’ out of SYC in Victoria. (She unfortunately foundered in the 09 Hobart)
Since then, has been sailing Sydney 38’s, J24’s, ‘Chutzpah’ RP 40 out of Melbourne and ‘Al Fresco’ a Bakewell White 36 in Perth. States and National Titles, lots of regattas (thirteen Hamilton Island Race Weeks, five Airlie Beach rRegattas, twelve Geelong Weeks ) and getting more into offshore - most recently the Fastnet on ‘Desperado’ Swan 65 in 2011 & the Melbourne to Hobart on Swan 60 ‘Dreamcatcher 111’ in 2010.
Specialty is headsail and kite trim, and is capable mid bow, mast, pit, sewer, main and helm.
Qualifications: Boat Licence, S@SS and First Aid

Interested in crewing for the China Sea race in April - 50 years old, mainly sails short handed (2 handed or single handed) on a JOD 35, owned and sailed in the UK.
Has sailed short handed now for 5 years and has completed many races - including over 30 solo offshore races with SORC, plus two-handed races with Royal Southampton and RORC as well as some crewed races.

If anyone is interested in John joining them as crew for the China race, he can make his own travel arrangements to Hong Kong and back from Manila.
