Learning to Row

The Rowing Section offers regular training courses that are designed to introduce new novices to the sport and also further the skills of experienced rowers. We aim to be flexible with our dates to offer the maximum convenience to participants and to best manage our limited coaching resources.

If you are a school or a company that would like to experience rowing, we can tailor a specific program to suit your needs. These can be structured multi-session program or a short afternoon 'splash and giggle' followed by a BBQ or buffet meal.
Please contact the Rowing Coach to examine this further.

Indoor Rowing Instruction
The popularity of indoor rowing has increased dramatically with many gyms having ergo machines and many people entering competitions without ever having rowed a boat on the water. Proper coaching is a great way to ensure maximum enjoyment, protection from injury and to secure a competitive edge in competition.

The Rowing Coach is available for half hour one-on-one technical sessions at the Kellett Island gym. Rowing Section Members $100, other Club Members $150

Other Courses
The Club may offer specialist or limited courses from time to time based on the needs of members. We have plans for a Boat Rigging course and also for a safety course that will assist offshore rowers. Please let us know if you have any special requirements.
